Description
This artwork shows the tragic fate of the Maldives, completely submerged by the rising sea levels induced by climate change. The murky waters, dense with pollution, have submerged the iconic overwater bungalows and erased from view. Traditional Dhoni boats, are scattered and broken, aimlessly floating in the vast graveyard that was once a paradise. The absence of human presence shows the sense of abandonment and loss, a warning of what could be for coastal communities worldwide without urgent action on climate change.
